(17 – 18 April) The World Scholar’s Cup (WSC) is an international academic program that aims to motivate students of all backgrounds to discover new strengths, practise new skills, and inspire a global community of future scholars and leaders. The World Scholar’s Cup Penang Regional Round has been held in the Prince of Wales Island International School since 2014, and Jit Sin Independent High School has been participating in the WSC programme since 2018. On the 17 and 18th of April 2024, a total of 29 students (11 teams) from Jit Sin participated in the World Scholar’s Cup Penang Regional Round and achieved our best results to date with a total of 58 Gold Medals and 53 Silver Medals. It was also the first time we had ever won trophies in the regional round. All 11 teams qualified for the Global Rounds that will be held in Baku, Kuala Lumpur, Stockholm, Bangkok, Seoul and Dubai.
